This morning we have been informed by Nilesh Shaw, our man in Delhi that the AQI (Air Quality Index) is now 97 – Moderate, and he has commented that today Delhi’s air is as clean as that of London. Not a great claim, but a sign of marked improvement on recent days

Delhi is choked with vehicles, many in a poor state, and they contribute to pollution as they do in most cities around the worlds, but Delhi’s problems have been exacerbated by seasonal stubble burning around the capital and in neighbouring States, that and the prevailing winds have caused a perfect storm.

We are in constant touch with our guys in Delhi and across India, and we receive daily updates on events and factors that may impact of travel to the subcontinent. We will be posting updates on our social media pages.
