In northern Kerala there is a jewel; Neeleshwar Hermitage. It is a small heritage hotel that exudes calm and beauty, and an ineffable feeling of being exactly, serenely right. Accommodation is in individual thatched cottages each a stone’s throw from the palm fringed beach of the Malabar Coast. It is luxury without a hint of ostentation.
There is an Ayurvedic Spa and daily yoga to take calm to an even higher level. And of course, the food is divine.
I visited when it first opened in 2008, and each time it delights.
